Position Description:
The Systems Developer position will report to a Project Leader and will be responsible for application and database development using the PROGRESS 4GL RDBMS environment, as well as maintenance, problem analysis, and possibly some customer interaction.
The successful candidate will preferably have experience working with relational databases, a working knowledge of UNIX, a solid understanding of Client/Server issues, and a related degree or diploma. The candidate must also have experience in the brokerage or financial industry. The candidate must be a self-motivated problem solver who can work both independently and in a team setting, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
•Development and testing of system enhancements
•Development and execution of ad-hoc custom reporting and/or system data adjustments
•Release note documentation, outlining system enhancements and configuration considerations
•Development time estimation
•Investigation and resolution of critical system problems as required
•Implementation and configuration support as required for BA/QA testing phases and/or following a release
